The Queensland transport minister announced in late April 2021 that the preliminary trial of the new Digital Licence App had reached a successful conclusion with a feasibility study in the Fraser Coast region.

He reported that feedback from those involved had been positive and that he anticipated the full roll-out of the system would commence following some further refinement of the system resulting from the trial.
